Interesting. My guess is that anyone who is interested in buying will be COUNTING on the U.S. market. It's basic economics...when supply is reduced, demand increases.

What makes this so upsetting is that the law wont be enforced until 270 days after the bill was signed. They should still except wagers, deposits and withdrawls. The whole situation makes no sense to me! I feel sorry for the people who have alot more than 1,000 in their accts. Cust rep told me they could hear somthing within 10 days on somone doing business with betcorp. As of now are money is frozen!

wwts can't play the players, and is looking for an out. Simple as that. I posted this earlier in another thread 3 days ago, and it is being born out.

What is that supposed to mean born out. Is that even a word born out?

My apologies. I should have closed the BetWWTS thread and somehow missed the mistake.

Not trying to stifle conversation on the subject, just trying to keep commentary out of the information threads.

Moved to this new thread.

Thanks.

no, its actually 2 words. Thanks for contributing

As for WWTS they are thieves. THey aren't the only site in this situation. Party Poker has lost millions upon millions from their decisiion and they let people cash out. What is the point in them holding our money. if they fully intend to refund the money why not do it now?

yeah yeah, they are working on deals. Well we gave them the weekend and still nothing. Now i hear from another site that it will be another 10 days. what a crock.

If they dont resolve somthing this week I think i need to get a lawyer and file a lawsuit against betcorp this is unacceptable. Who was that lawyer that deals with online wagering? Because i want to take Betcorp to court if somthing is not done this week!

Guys,

If the were going to stiff us they wouldn't have "frozen funds". They would just no pay. I am 90% sure that we will be paid.

I talked to the guy who answered the phone at OSGA this morning. He says he "thinks" WWTS will be bought this week. He mentioned that every weekend of football season that goes without action is another missed opportunity. He "thinks" the deal will be closed this week.

He did mention that WWTS has over 50,000 accounts, probably closer to 60,000. That is probably worth a lot to someone.

One last thing: He also mentioned that when they called WWTS on the phone to inquire about this last Friday, the first thing they told him was that if they had to payout on every account, they had the money to do it.

Either WWTS lied to him or he lied to me or we will get something out of this.

My only question is, if they do find a private buyer, how is the private buyer going to prevent a run on the book? Will they increase everyone's account balance by 20% and require a non-optional 4X rollover? I would be VERY ok with something like that. But if there is no sweetener, I will likely withdraw immediately. That is, if they find a buyer and I have not been told a pack of lies.

THanks for the info...If they do come back, they need to offer me at least 30-50 % of my acct to even make me consider staying. If it isn't done by Friday, it will be another week....

I'm going to have to stop reading this thread because I'm going to drive myself crazy. Every day is like a roller coaster ride. Will we or won't we?

I have a little over 4k that I tried to get out the day before the bill passed, but of course my funds are still there. I also lost a little under 1K at MVP which was part of the BoS operations. I certainly have no clue as to whether or not we're going to get our funds back, or whether my funds will end up in a different sportsbook that I'll have to roll over a few times before withdrawing. My guess is that if this WWTS issue isn't resolved within 30 days we will have an ever decreasing chance of seeing our money again. I'm somewhat more hopeful than the BoS situation, but I'm also trying to accept that I may have lost a nice chunk of change.
You think going to church this Sunday might help?:pope:

I don't ever remember seeing any threads where BoS was stating they had the money to cover all account balances. That is the only sportsbook failure I have witnessed since I stumbled across the gambling forums two years ago.

As for BetPanam, that was really before my time. Was BetPanam a publicly traded company?

If a privately owned sports book does this and says they have the money, that is one thing. As you can see, the publicly traded companies are afraid of their own shadows. I doubt they would lie about cash balances. They have investors to report to. The executives can't be giving out two different stories, one for the players and one for the investors. The stories have to match of they can be sued, personally, by the class action guys.

As with any balance due, the older it gets, the less likely you are to collect. If they don't sell this thing before the weekend, I will be disappointed.

How are the BetCorp Lawyers interpreting the law vs in the Sports Interaction thread are? Look at this history. Phone bets stopped in August, withdrawing was not an option even before Black Friday the 13th. Now they are in limbo. I jsut don't think there is a buyer out there willing to take on a book with 50-60000 accts that 80-90 pct won't trust them. TIME IS THE ENEMY, NOT OUR FRIEND HERE. I am in a complete funk about this (nevermind I went 4-2 in college and 5-2-1 in pro and missed out on a GOM ARIZ + for 10 units).

Gambling411. com is a better source than OSGA since OSGA was founded by the books themselves.

I don't remember seeing an official announcement from WWTS that they had cash to cover all player accounts. They may have said everyone will get paid, just like BOS. Do you have a link?
